The people
the light in their eyes almost as bright
as the lights on the streets
the buildings
the signs
the cars
reflecting
blinding
they all looked like children who have
just seen their first glimpse of the world
or maybe adults who have just met the
love of their life.
But they didn't know that yet
She has a purple dress
black tights
nude heels
He has a suit
with a tie
or maybe he doesn't
and maybe she does.
They say its where dreams are made or maybe
where they come true.
To me its where everyone is everyone and where
you are you.
I used enjambment, assonance of ō, and end stopped lines.
Katie,
ReplyDeleteI really liked the ending of your poem. It changed a little because in the beginning you were explaining the surroundings, and toward the end the poem was about love and how New York is special and magical.
Great Blogging,
